Kneecap Removal

Definition Kneecap removal, or patellectomy, is the partial or total surgical removal of the patella, commonly called the kneecap. Purpose Kneecap removal is performed under three circumstances: The kneecap is fractured or shattered. The kneecap dislocates easily and repeatedly.
